Style Icons

Everyone has celebrities or successful people they admire. I think it's important to have people you admire in life because it pushes you to venture into unknown territory and take risks. Some risks may be as small as wearing a tangerine coloured sweater instead of black or wearing high heels during the daytime. All these little things you admire women (or men) for make you push yourself to do something that isn't second nature to you which expands your boundaries. This is a good thing!

The three of my all time style and personal icons are Christine Centenera - Editor & Chief of Harper's Bazaar Australia, Emmanuelle Alt - Editor & Chief of Vogue Paris and Tamara Mellon - Original Co-Founder of Jimmy Choo. All three of these women are successful, powerful and extremely stylish. Who doesn't want to be Editor & Chief of Vogue Paris? Like hello! That is every little fashionista's dream. Dream big kids!

Any woman that can wear sweat pants, a sasquatch fur jacket and black and white striped high heels and look seriously stunning is an icon in my books. Common... If I walked down the street wearing this people would be yelling "chewbacca". It takes someone fierce to pull this outfit off...

Emmanuelle Alt is just French chic through and through and who doesn't want to be French? Any woman that can rock no make up on a daily and still look fierce is an icon.

And last but not least... Tamara Mellon. The day the news broke about Tamara bowing down as CCO of Jimmy Choo, my heart broke. I've admired her since I was like 15. She co-founded Jimmy bloody Choo, that says it all right there. This English fashionista is a hero to all us shoe whores. I'm slightly hoping she dabbles in something else... maybe another shoe line? maybe woman's clothing? ... *fingers crossed*.

xoxo,
Michelle
